Description: Yellow toadflax is perennial, grows 1 to 2 feet tall, and reproduces by seed and creeping rootstock. Leaves are pale green, narrow, and pointed at both ends. Flowers are 1 inch long, yellow and orange. Yellow toadflax is a native of Eurasia and was introduced to the United States as an ornamental plant. This species' extensive root system makes it difficult to control. Control: Perennial
plants require depletion of nutrient reserves in the root system, prevention
of seed production and prevention of dispersal. This plant has attractive
yellow flowers. Resist the temptation to pick it or dig it and carry it
home. |
