Myriophyllum spicatum L

Description: Eurasian watermilfoil is an aquatic perennial growing from roots on single stems branching near the water surface. Leaves are comprised of 10 to 12 feathery leaflets in whorls of four around weak stems. Small pink flowers are generally unisexual, with male flowers appearing in different clusters than female flowers. This species was introduced from Asia and Europe.

Control: Eurasian watermilfoil spreads mostly through vegetative propagation. The plant can cause leaflets to fall off then root elsewhere. Boat propellers can also break off fragments that can root elsewhere. Avoid spreading Eurasian watermilfoil by boat or other recreational equipment.
